Sometimes, a short break from home is exactly what you need. Whether it’s to try new activities, build your independence, meet new people, or give your regular support network a well-deserved rest, Q1 Care’s Respite Care provides a safe, supportive environment for your time away.

What is Short Term Accommodation (STA)?

At Q1 Care, our Short Term Accommodation (STA) is more than just a place to stay. It’s a welcoming, personalised space where you can enjoy your time away while staying connected to your goals and support needs.

Under the NDIS, STA covers the cost of your care and support while you stay somewhere else for a short period. You can stay with other participants or on your own, depending on your needs.

How STA Works with the NDIS

  • STA must be included in your NDIS plan or funded through your Core budget.

  • The NDIS usually funds up to 28 days per year, which can be used flexibly: a weekend each month, a week at a time, or a block of up to 14 days.

  • STA can include personal care, accommodation, meals, and agreed activities.

  • STA is disability-related support, not a holiday, and should align with your plan goals, such as building independence, learning new skills, or giving informal carers a break.
